Five rising squash stars from Pakistan—including the celebrated Ali sisters—were spotlighted at the Australian Junior Open Squash Championship 2025, held in Melbourne, with a dominant medal haul.
Pakistani Players Shine in the Finals
- Four out of five Pakistani finalists secured gold medals.
- All four champions won their final matches with clean 3-0 victories.
- One silver medal was also claimed by Team Pakistan.
Ali Sisters Lead the Charge
- Mehwish Ali, the top seed in the Girls’ Under-17 category, defeated Reden Alma Paulava (NSW) in straight games.
- Sehrish Ali, the top seed in the Girls’ Under-13, also posted a 3-0 win against Ryo Kua Bata (Queensland).
- Both are part of the Ali trio from Peshawar, making squash history once again.
Additional Titles Won by Male Players
- Azaan Ali Khan (Rawalpindi) won the Boys’ Under-17 title over Henry Cross (NSW).
- Ahmed Ali Naaz captured gold in the Boys’ Under-12, beating Flee (USA) convincingly.
A Historic Milestone for the Ali Sisters
- Sehrish Ali also reached the Girls’ Under-15 final, earning silver after a close 3-2 battle with M. Emily Senior (Japan).
- This tournament marks just the third instance in squash history where three biological sisters reached the finals of a platinum-category international event.
