Haleon, a global leader in consumer healthcare, has taken a groundbreaking step in pain management by launching the Haleon Pain Management Institute (HPMI). Pakistan has been selected as the inaugural country for this global initiative, highlighting the region’s critical role in advancing healthcare solutions. The launch marks a significant milestone in Haleon’s mission to redefine global pain management standards. HPMI is designed to equip healthcare professionals with state-of-the-art resources, education, and tools to improve patient care.
The event brought together key global and local healthcare stakeholders, led by Farhan Haroon, CEO of Haleon Pakistan. International dignitaries included Charles Leslie, Global Business Lead for Pain Portfolio & Systemics (Panadol and Advil), and Meltem Asim, Area Expert Marketing Director at Haleon.
A notable aspect of the initiative was the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with prominent organizations such as MARHAM, OLADOC, and the Pakistan Association of Family Physicians (PAFP). These partnerships aim to enhance healthcare by launching educational campaigns, improving skills for healthcare professionals, driving behavioral change initiatives, and increasing public access to pain management resources. By fostering collaboration, Haleon seeks to promote innovation, drive research, and elevate pain management services in Pakistan and beyond.
The event’s highlight was a keynote address by Dr. Bart Morlion, Director of the Leuven Centre for Algology and Pain Management. His presentation, titled “Understanding & Accepting Pain at Every Stage of Life,” delved into the complexities of pain and emphasized the importance of tailored management strategies for every stage of life.
With the launch of the Haleon Pain Management Institute, Haleon is setting new benchmarks in healthcare. This transformative initiative promises to bring relief and hope to millions while reshaping the global landscape of pain management.
