WhatsApp to Introduce New Feature for Enhanced Privacy Transparency
WhatsApp is set to launch a new feature aimed at improving transparency in conversations. This feature will notify users whenever the advanced chat privacy settings are enabled or disabled.
Key Highlights:
- Notifications for Privacy Changes:
Users will receive notifications whenever someone activates or deactivates the advanced privacy setting in both one-on-one chats and group discussions. - Automatic Alerts for Privacy Status Adjustments:
If a participant turns off the advanced privacy setting, everyone in the conversation will be alerted via a notification. This ensures that the group is aware of any changes made to the chat’s privacy. - Enhanced Privacy Control:
Enabling the new feature will prevent any participant from automatically saving media to their device’s gallery. It will also restrict the ability to export the entire chat history, further safeguarding the conversation’s content. - Restoring Chat Export Functionality:
If the feature is disabled, participants will regain the ability to export chat histories. This change will also be communicated to all participants through a notification.
Development Status:
This feature is currently under development, with the rollout expected in upcoming updates.
WhatsApp’s new privacy update ensures greater control over chat data, keeping conversations secure while maintaining transparency among all participants.
