Pakistan’s IT exports have demonstrated impressive growth, reaching $1.86 billion in the first half of the 2024-25 fiscal year—a 21% increase from $1.456 billion during the same period last year. Despite challenges like slow internet speeds, the sector has maintained strong performance, consistently achieving monthly exports of over $300 million since October 2024. December 2024 marked a record high with $348 million in exports.
Umair Nizam, Senior Vice Chairperson of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), attributed this success to effective collaboration between the government, IT companies, and industry stakeholders.
Pakistani IT firms have been expanding into new markets, including the GCC region, while maintaining a strong presence in their traditional markets. Their participation in international tech events has significantly contributed to this export growth.
At this pace, IT exports are projected to surpass $4 billion by the end of the fiscal year, signaling remarkable progress for Pakistan’s technology sector.
